Big Cat Rescue Will Be A Roaring Voice For The Global March For Lions This Saturday

I recently received an email from Susan Bass who is the Public Relations Director of Big Cat Rescue. In that email, there was some exciting news that Big Cat Rescue will host a global March for lion’s event. I was excited the sanctuary was taking part of this movement, I knew they were my favorite place to visit in Tampa for a reason. The purpose of this event is to raise Awareness of the imminent threats to Wild and Captive Lions. If you ever had the opportunity to visit “BCR” you will hear some inspiring stories of their current residents the Big Cats.

This is a worldwide event taking place on March 15th, 30 cities will be involved spanning 15 countries. If that doesn’t get the public’s attention, I am pretty sure Joseph the lion’s roar will. I will never forget Joseph’s roar; it was really awesome to hear it. Not only will be guided around the sanctuary by knowledgeable and friendly staff, but they will have a food truck and activities for kids.

You will be able to participate in sending video messages to Senators and House reps asking them to immediately pass the pending Big Cats & Public Safety Protection Act federal bill through Congress. This bill is something “BCR” has been fighting for many years; now, you can personally help them and inspire others. Just to give you a quick stat in the last 50 years alone the lion population in the wild dropped from 170,000 to 30,000. That is simply not acceptable! I am glad Big Cat Rescue and their loyal supporters are making their voices heard.

It is only a $5 to attend in advance, and you can register at this link . Arrival time is at 11:30 and the walk starts exactly at noon ending at 2 pm. You can park in the Citrus Park Crossing parking lot, not at the sanctuary. This is going to be a really cool event to attend because not only the knowledge you will gain but because of the good cause you are participating in.

On a side note, I received “The Big Cat Times” in the mail the other day, I was ecstatic. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, it is packed with information about your favorite Big Cats. I must admit those photos are really cute in the paper and there are a lot of them. Big Cat Rescue did an awesome job putting together this publication. I showed my friends the “Big Cat Times” and they did not want to give it back. Big Cat Rescue does amazing work, so make sure to pay them a visit next time you are in the Tampa area. If you can’t make it to the event, donations to the sanctuary are always welcomed; also make sure to check out their Facebook page.
